Give, take and use verbs in Japanese

Japanese usually puts the verb last and leaves out subjects and objects when they are clear. Unlike English, its verbs stay the same for every person, and the same form can describe habits or future actions. を marks an object, に can mark who receives something, and から marks where it comes from. Use polite ~ます forms with unfamiliar people and plain forms with close friends or family: although “父はテーブルを作る。” is labelled formal here, 作る is plain, and its polite form is 作ります.
