Tem, há e onde fica em inglês

Nível A1

Tem, há e onde fica em inglês

Em português, «tem» dá conta de tudo: «tem uma padaria», «tem três cadeiras». Em inglês, quem faz esse papel é «there is» e «there are», e o verbo «have» fica de fora. Nesta lição você também aprende a perguntar onde fica alguma coisa com «Where is…?» e a responder com «here» (aqui) e «there» (aí, ali, lá).

Aqui, ali e onde: here, there e where

Tem uma coisa, tem várias: there's e there are

There's / There are a bakery on this street.

Perguntar e negar: Is there…? e There isn't…

Is there / There isn't a sofa in the living room

Onde fica?: Where is…? e Where are…?

Where is / are the kitchen?

Dizer onde algo está: The bathroom is over there.

The bathroom is over there.

There's a bakery ou The bakery is: algo novo ou algo conhecido

Em português, «tem» serve para dizer que algo existe num lugar: «Tem uma padaria nesta rua». Em inglês, o verbo «have» não faz esse papel; use «there is» (na fala, «there's») com uma coisa e «there are» com várias: «There's a bakery on this street.», «There are three chairs in the kitchen.».

Quando a coisa já é conhecida e vem com «the», a frase muda: começa pela coisa e usa «is», como o nosso «fica»: «The bakery is on this street.». Ou seja, «There's a bakery…» apresenta algo novo, e «The bakery is…» diz onde está algo que os dois já conhecem.

Diálogo: perguntando por uma farmácia na rua

Diálogo: procurando as chaves em casa
