« I haven't made up my mind » signifie que la décision reste ouverte, pas que Cara refuse l’essai.

Shared proposition is our common ground, but limit of what is shared.

Préciser le désaccord avec differ on whether

- familier
Where Ana and Ben differ is the timing of approval; Cara hasn't decided yet.
Dans « only Ben is ready to approve a trial », only limite à Ben l’approbation immédiate, sans transformer l’hésitation de Cara en opposition. Dans « I would support one only if the cost and staffing plans were clear », one reprend l’essai et only if introduit une condition nécessaire ; l’anglais emploie ici le prétérit après if, là où le français emploie l’imparfait. « To summarize » convient à une synthèse formelle, tandis que « I'll sum up their views » et « I'd back one » donnent un ton plus conversationnel.
- soutenu
To summarize, all three support longer hours, but only Ben is ready to approve a trial; I would support one only if the cost and staffing plans were clear.
- familier
I'll sum up their views: they all want longer hours, but only Ben is ready to approve a trial; I'd back one only if the cost and staffing plans were clear.
