A situation because of a cause noun phrase; a situation because a cause clause.
The road was closed because of the snow, so we took the train.
Our train was late because of a problem with the doors, so we missed the meeting.
A situation because of a cause noun phrase, so an actual consequence.
The road was closed because of the snow, so we took the train.
Our train was late because of a problem with the doors, so we missed the meeting.
An action in order to a purpose with the same understood actor.
We moved the meeting online in order to save time.
I'm taking evening classes in order to get a better job.
I left early in order to get a seat, but the room was already full.

Could you speak more slowly so that everyone can follow?
Can you send me the notes so that I can catch up?
We sent her a map so that she could find the office, but she still got lost.
「I left early in order to get a seat, but the room was already full.」

We sent her a map so that she could find the office, but she still got lost.
