One objection to proposal is concern.
One objection to keeping the library open later is the extra staffing cost.
People might raise an objection about paying extra staff to keep the library open late.

I accept that valid concern, but proposed response.
I accept that staffing would cost more, but we could start with one evening a week.
You're right about the extra cost, but we could try just one evening a week.

「Our strongest reason is that a hundred local workers have requested evening access.」
Our strongest reason is that a hundred local workers have requested evening access.
The best reason we've got is that a hundred local workers have asked for evening hours.
Requests from local workers are more relevant to evening opening hours than comments about the library's furniture.
That's relevant, but actual visitor numbers would give us a stronger reason to keep the evening hours.
「I still think keeping it open later is a good idea.」
Our strongest reason is that a hundred local workers have requested evening access.
The best reason we've got is that a hundred local workers have asked for evening hours.

Your rebuttal answers the concern about demand, but what about staffing costs?
