「It's a small chair.」(小さい椅子です。)、「She's a teacher.」(彼女は先生です。) 「The chairs are small.」(椅子はどれも小さいです。)また、him、her、it、them で人や物を言いかえることもできます。「Could you give it to him?」(それを彼に渡してもらえる?)
It's a small chair.
She's a teacher.
The chairs are small.
Could you give it to him?
thing は物、word は言葉、know は知っている、cut は切る、paper は紙、scissors ははさみ、pay は払う、woman は女性、next to the door はドアの隣という意味です。
a thing that…、a place where…、the woman who…
- A
Excuse me. Could you help me, please?
- B
Of course.
- A
I'd like something, but I don't know the word.
- B
What does it do?
- A
It's a thing that cuts paper.
- B
Oh, scissors! Here you are.
- A
Thank you. Is there a place where I can pay?
- B
Yes. The woman who's next to the door can help you.
「It's a thing that cuts paper.」(紙を切るものです。)It's a thing that it cuts paper
単数の a thing that cuts には -s がつき、複数の things that show にはつきません。「It's a small thing that shows the time.」(時間がわかる小さいものです。)と「They're things that show the time.」(時間がわかるものです。) 「They're people who work with me.」(一緒に働いている人たちです。)
What's the word for…? 「What's the word for a person who helps doctors?」(医者を手伝う人は何と言いますか。)
a person who / a thing that helps doctors / cuts paper
It's a person who helps doctors.
I know a person who can help you.
They're people who work with me.
It's a thing that cuts paper.
It's a small thing that shows the time.
They're things that show the time.
What's the word for a person who helps doctors?
「It's a place where you can read.」(本を読める場所です。) you can read、people watch films
Where can I pay? 一方、a place where I can pay では I が can の前です。「Is there a room where I can wait?」(待てる部屋はありますか。) Is there…? は there is の疑問の形で、Are you…?
a place where you can read / people watch films
It's a place where you can read.
It's a place where you can sleep.
It's a place where people watch films.
Is there a room where I can wait?
What's the word for a place where you can read?
a を使うと、どんなものかを説明します(a person who helps doctors)。 「The book that's on the table is mine.」(テーブルの上にある本は私のです。) 「This is the room where we have lunch.」(ここは私たちが昼ご飯を食べる部屋です。)
the book that's on the table is mine では、's は is で説明の一部です。 このレッスンでは、who's と that's は who is と that is です。 「He's the man who helped me yesterday.」(昨日手伝ってくれた男の人です。)
「My sister, who lives in Rome, is a doctor.」(ローマに住んでいる姉は医者です。)「This is the book I read yesterday.」(これは昨日読んだ本です。)
the book / woman / shop that / who / where …
The book that's on the table is mine.
Could you give me the box that's under the chair?
The keys that are in my bag are Ana's.
He's the man who helped me yesterday.
The woman who gave it to me works here.
This is the shop where I work.
This is the room where we have lunch.
My sister, who lives in Rome, is a doctor.
This is the book I read yesterday.
It's a thing that cuts bread.
It's a person who works in a pharmacy.
It's a place where you can eat.
Could you give me the pen that's next to the phone?
The man who lives here is my teacher.
What's the word for…?
