If I have time tomorrow, I'll help.
If I had a car, I could drive you to the station.
We could deliver on Monday for ten thousand, but only if you approve the order today.
- A
Our priorities are the deadline and the price: everything by Friday, at the price we agreed on.
- B
Friday is possible, provided that we get the final text this afternoon.
- A
The text is ready. What about the price?
- B
We can keep the price as long as you accept a second translator on the project.
- A
Fine, but I don't want two different styles in the text.
- B
Nobody will notice, unless there is no time for the final review.
- A
Then here's my counterproposal: the main pages by Friday, the rest the week after, with the full review.
- B
Deal. Otherwise the quality suffers, and quality is my priority.
as long as は中立で、会話でよく使われます。 「provided that we get」であって、will get とは言いません。
result provided that / as long as condition.
Friday is possible, provided that we get the final text this afternoon.
We can keep the price as long as you accept a second translator on the project.
We can finish by the deadline, provided that nothing changes in the text.
As long as the main pages are ready on Friday, the rest can wait a week.
Provided that you pay half now, we'll start on the first pages today.
Monday's fine, as long as we can finish by noon.
result unless exception.
Nobody will notice, unless there is no time for the final review.
Unless the text is final by tomorrow, Friday is impossible.
We start on Monday, unless you need the first pages before that.
The price doesn't change unless the number of pages changes.
会話では、「How about …?」
How about your concession? Otherwise consequence.
Our priorities are the deadline and the price: everything by Friday, at the price we agreed on.
Then here's my counterproposal: the main pages by Friday, the rest the week after, with the full review.
How about two translators now and one price for the whole project?
Otherwise we deliver the rest a week later.
We can accept the second translator; in return, we want the full review included in the price.
We accept your counterproposal, provided that the review is included in the price.
Deal. Otherwise the quality suffers, and quality is my priority.
Monday is fine, provided that the price doesn't change.
As long as the main pages come first, we can wait for the rest.
Unless we get the first pages by Wednesday, we'll need a second translator.
How about the main pages on Friday and the rest on Monday?
Otherwise we pay half on Monday and half a week later.
provided that と as long as は「はい」に条件をつけ、unless は例外を示し、otherwise は結果を伝えます。
