“She said she'd be here at eleven.”(11時にこちらに着くと言っていました。)
in my view(私の考えでは)で意見も言えます。“In my view, the library should open on Sundays.”(私の考えでは、図書館は日曜日も開館するべきです。)
She said she'd be here at eleven.
In my view, the library should open on Sundays.
The library will be closed next week, from Monday to Friday.
We are painting the reading rooms.
Books due next week may be kept until June 14th.
Readers with a library card may use the computers at the town hall from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
We apologize for any inconvenience.
最後に Does that make sense?(ここまで分かりますか。)
- A
What does that notice say? I don't have my glasses.
- B
It's about the library. According to the notice, it'll be closed next week, from Monday to Friday.
- A
What about my books? I have to bring them back next week.
- B
You can keep them until June 14th.
- A
And the computers?
- B
You can use the computers at the town hall from nine to one, but only if you have a library card.
- A
So I need my card?
- B
Exactly. Does that make sense?
- A
What's going to change at the library?
- B
From June 15th, we'll be open on Saturdays, from ten to four.
- A
Can children get a card?
- B
Children under twelve can get a card if they come with an adult.
- A
Why is this important for the town?
- B
I think every town needs a library like this.
She thinks は司書の意見、I think と That's just my opinion
- A
I didn't hear the interview on the radio. Can you summarize it for me?
- B
According to the librarian, the library will be open on Saturdays from June 15th.
- A
All day?
- B
No, she said it would be open from ten to four.
- A
Can my son get a card? He's ten.
- B
Yes, if he comes with an adult.
- A
So I can go with him?
- B
Exactly. She thinks every town needs a library like this.
- A
What do you think?
- B
I agree, but I think four o'clock is too early. That's just my opinion.
“According to her, it'll be open from ten to four.”(その人の話では、10時から4時まで開いているそうです。)to のあとには she や he ではなく、her や him を使います。
ですから、自分の意見には according to me ではなく、in my view や in my opinion を使います。 According to the notice says
According to the notice / the librarian / her, the library will be closed next week / you can keep your books until June 14th.
According to the notice, the library will be closed next week.
According to the librarian, the library will be open on Saturdays from June 15th.
According to her, it'll be open from ten to four.
“The notice says the library will be closed next week.”(掲示には、図書館は来週閉まると書いてあります。)
“The librarian said the library would be open on Saturdays.”(司書は、図書館は土曜日も開くと言っていました。) She said it will be open
“The librarian, who was on the radio this morning, said the library would be open on Saturdays.”(けさラジオに出ていた司書は、図書館は土曜日も開くと言っていました。)
The notice says the library will be closed next week.
The librarian said the library would be open on Saturdays.
The librarian, who was on the radio this morning, said the library would be open on Saturdays.
Books due next week may be kept… “If you have to bring a book back next week, you can keep it until June 14th.”(来週返す本があれば、6月14日まで持っていていいです。)
You can use the computers とだけ言うと、時間も only if(〜の場合だけ)もないので、相手は午後に市役所へ行ったり、カードなしで行ったりするかもしれません。
The main point is that…
Books due next week may be kept until June 14th.
If you have to bring a book back next week, you can keep it until June 14th.
You can use the computers at the town hall from nine to one, but only if you have a library card.
The main point is that the library will be closed next week.
In short, the library will be closed next week, but you can keep your books until June 14th.
“The library will be open on Saturdays from ten to four.”(図書館は土曜日、10時から4時まで開いています。)“That's a fact, not an opinion.”(それは事実で、意見ではありません。)
司書が I think と言ったら、She thinks か According to her と言います。 Every town needs a library like this
自分の意見はあとで、I think や in my view をつけて言います。That's just my opinion
The library will be open on Saturdays from ten to four.
That's a fact, not an opinion.
She thinks every town needs a library like this.
That's her opinion.
In my view, four o'clock is too early.
That's just my opinion.
説明する人は “Does that make sense?”(ここまで分かりますか。) Do you understand?
“So I can use the computers without a card?”(じゃあ、カードがなくてもパソコンを使えるんですね。)合っていれば Exactly(そのとおりです)と答えます。 “Let me explain that again.”(もう一度説明させてください。)
Does that make sense?
Is that clear?
Yes, that makes sense.
So I can use the computers without a card?
No, you need a library card.
Let me explain that again.
What does the notice say?
The concert in the park will start at 8 p.m. In case of rain, it will be at the library.
According to the notice, the concert will start at eight.
If it rains, it'll be at the library.
I think the park is better than the library.
Does that make sense?
according to、says、said で出どころを言います。 最後に Does that make sense?
According to the notice, the library will be closed next week.
She thinks every town needs a library like this.
Does that make sense?
